Today this gorgeous wallaby decided to go for a swim in the Maribyrnong river. Mandy our co-ordinator went for a swim to capture her, much to the delight of firebrigade and news cameras.
I transported her wrapped up in a sleeping bag to our meet point, where she was picked up by Annakie Wildlife shelter transporter and last I heard , she was wet and sedated but alive. She was large, took up the whole back seet, and seemed well ( not frothy or agitated) but when I saw her eye open it looks like she may have been blind, at least in one eye which is not a good thing for her release :(

As with Beau, with roos and wallabys its a 'you never can tell' situation. I hope she makes it.

In other wildhouse news..so far in three days I've managed to rehouse a galah....pick up a ringy..release a ringy ( or rather had one release himself running down my leg and scooting out of the cage and up my plum tree!)  and somehow manage to host a 13th birthday party with three dogs and two cats all deciing to arrive over the weekend!
I drew the line at transporting a bananna box frog. but only because it was my son's birthday lol.
