Thanks to Ivica and the lovely racing pigeon people in Melton I learned that Coo wasnt a homing or racing pigeon after all but a 'fancy' pigeon, of a kind called  'nun' pigeon because he/she has a crest! Then....thanks to the people at Melbourne Pigeon Society I discovered no, not a Nun but a Crested Helmut...'entirely different breed'! ok....
So after tracking down Coo's birthplace through a ring tag search, which was funnily enough, the  Hunter Valley NSW, and after talking to a gentlement there for half an hour about birds and climate change, I finally discovered Coo is 6 yrs old...and I also learned she has changed owners several times..and the likelyhood of finding her current mum and dad is exactly zilch...so................ I rang back MPS..chatted once gain to an endearing Mr M..and found another guy called A who also runs crested helmuts and now..finally after an enourmous zippity do da..Coo has a new home! Yay!
Now fat happy and pooping everywhere...Coo will be going to a new home with many other similarly crested beauties on a farm near Lara! Sheeesh I had no idea the world of fancy pigeons even existed before today and ( jokingly) after today.. am not sure I want to know lol.

Hmmmm....I now feel eminantly qualified so I might go for a job at the UN or Interpol.

I'm just happy little cutie pie has a home....and a good home too.
