Intrepid rescuer's we BADGARians are and today even more so.

With water temps below 4 degrees and wind chill bringing bayside temperatures down to a balmy 7 or so , we joined the rescue of a human savvy pelican with wing and beak damage at the warmies in Newport.

Somewhere between 'slowly slowly' and Go' our fearless and furless team leader Mandy Hall took an improptue swim, chasing said pelican into the water waist deep...BRRRR!

So..after we had stopped laughing and with a cheeky well fed pelican swiming far away from our nets, operation Mandy Pants was formed and with some help and much to the amusement of many fishermen and gathering onlookers..a severe carpark redress was in order.
