Busy few months and all the houseguests have now been unceromoniously plopped on the scales for the first of this cycles weigh in's. Good news is everyone has gained good weight and even Angel is now 500grams! I cant believe he is almost halfway to release weight already!

We have a few houseguests in atm, there's Mr Jucyfruit and Violet, both brushies who came in on the 15th for some rehab prior to release, after being loving hand raised by my local Shelter mum Dawn of Wildlife of Werribee ( WOW) and we also have Abby and Gibbs, recruits from Wildlife Victoria who will soon be on their way to a release sight near Puckapunyal ( thank you Enviro scientist Paul for the site) and then there's Beth and Bill who are still going strong though Bill is prooving something of a late bloomer compared to everyone else...good weight..just very small.

On odd things...Mr Jucyfruit has the most amazingly weirdest ever nose I have ever seen on a possy!
He looks like a possum crossed with a bandicoot:) and to top it off.. Ms Violet has a tail at least an inch shorter than any of the females here. She seems very content and is quite capable in her pen and she is using it well..it just looks so strange.....yup...weird:)

Generally speaking, we've had a few bump ins and outs..lots of ringy's that have needed rehousing ( Thanks foster mums) and a few birds (Thannks FONL) , including a gorgeous Galah Sammy who after only a day here, caught up with the local flock and has since disapeared into the wild blue yonder:)

I hope to get some pics soon of everyone, and do a short vid to show folks around the place here..the new cages and set up here is slowly coming together heck..its only taken three years lol.....so yes...its been busy but things are looking good for for now and for the future. Its nealy time for me to go to a full time shelter after July! Wow...would never have thought that in the begining!

Oo oOO...nearly forgot...for all my artist buddies..Ive also been exhibiting artwork and was fortunate to have a painting up at federation square in April as well as the series of bluebirds entered at the Quenos art show at the Joel gallery!
How Amazing huh :) I do plan on doing a few artists markets and I am hoping to sell to raise funds to build a flight avariy..its just finding the time! If you do spot me out there..please call and say hi.

On the subject of fundraising...Ive also got some gloves for sale...loads and loads of very good coated gloves! Just 5 bucks a pair, 15 a bag of 5 and 50 dollars a box...so if you can please give me a call and do help out !
Its nearly time to stock up on milk and feed...so I am hoping to sell heaps before the rain comes.

Before I sign off, I want to leave a note to the lovely lady who sadly hit a male brushtail with her car in Willy - Verdon St.

I wanted to let her know that Verdon as we called him, is alive. He was unwell for a few days and he broke his eye socket and nose..but he is a trooper and has made it through!! Yay.

He will need to be in care a little while longer but given how well he is going, there is no reason he cannot be rehabbed to release in short order.

I hope that makes you smile, thank you so much for stopping for him and not just driving off...it was horrendous as you know but these critters are hardy and do bounce back well. Thank you for caring!

Thats all for now folks..will write again soonest.

xx
