Heya folks!

Sorry its been a while since I posted last...we've been happily busy caring transporting and preparing for fire season!

This month I fell in love with a little native Boobook owl I named..yes..Boo. He came in very sick..had been kept as a pet (grr) and was covered in excrement and had been for so long it was rock solid, he couldnt even poo or open his wings. At first the vet's wanted to put him down he was not expected to live,  but my intrepid shelter mum Mandy at Hobsons Bay shelter decided no way..and we nabbed him for a trial rehab run. We bathed and fed and nurtured him to be well enough to go to the Raptor shelter in Ballarat and thanks to those combined efforts Boo not only made it, he is comming home tomorrow for release back into the wild! There is a large local population of Boo's near to me so it will be a precious moment. Yes I'll try and get pics:)

Here's the pics I have to date.

Boo decided he didnt want his eye cream put in..

Boo after his bath...

Boo's morning grumpy face...on the way to Ballarat...yes..it was early in the morning for us too!

I think after Hoot the barn owl and now Boo, I might have to 'get into' raptors, especialy Owls...I seem to have a knack with capture and care that even I didnt know I had...and when Boo decided he didnt want to be manually fed and stood on my arm to just take the meat from my hand..it was one of 'those' moments..a beautiful 'god sigh' one..the same 'moment' thing I had with my first possum...these animlas just 'know'...and you know what you know when you know it..right? :) Anyway...do check back for release pics..if he doesnt bolt straight off.
