Two things this week!
Miss Victoria has a baby in her pouch!! I'm a grandma!
For those of you that have been reading my blog for a while, you'd know Miss Vic was the first possum to come into my care as a backrider...she is now at a special location near Violet town and I've just been informed that she has had a baby! :)
I am so so happy!
THAT is cycle completion to me...when an animal can come in, be helped and assisted back into the wild..and be well enough go on to make more...what a success:)
I'm so stoked. Atta grrl Vici!
I'm a granny! yay!
Also this week...
Hoo the barn owl came back for release and I was able to be the one to let him go. With my son, two visiting Japanese friends Miho and Toyomi, we trecked to the backwoods of Brooklyn and found a release site. I didnt even get much of a chance to hold him he was out of the box so fast and away he went! He was healthy fiesty, weaving and strong..he looked so good compared to when I saw him last. It was so special. Many thanks to Martin, BADGARS befriended Raptor Specialist for his wonderful care of Hoo..he was so much bigger, filled out..he was strong..amazing!
I feel so privileged to have been part of his rehab and release....I hope he finds a mate and stays out of trouble.
I love my job.
