Hi Everyone

Yes its been a busy month and a difficult one. Busy in that we've had penguins, pigeons, ravens, possums of all kinds in and out and flying around, and difficult because we've had to deal with some pretty miserable situations and sadly..miserable people.

I would just like to say for the record.... to all the cynical pirates out there ...
 HOPE EXISTS!

Further to that, I would genuinely like to thank THEM simply for exisiting..why?
Because in just being themselves, in being the cynical pirates they are...they have showed me where hope really is - inside me.

Here's the nicer bits tho...a few of this months houseguests

Tux the little penguin..came in 300gms left 1023gms....

Byron and Poe....Byron has the dropsies and cant stand up for long..and Poe is a bub who just needs some feeding up.

oh....and I have a pet duck now...she is called Duk...a domestic breed..but who was too gorgeous to let go...

And the twins are going really well...boy have they grown!
Here they are running around their pen...self feeding now and furring up nicely:)

My furry bumps...

Mary and Sunshine, two female brushy's I've had for a while, are also going well but I havent been handling them or in any way humanising them so I dont have any pics..they are about 600gms now and outside in my largest avairy...so still a little ways to go before release..but they are napping together and exercising well by the sounds of them every night.

In between animals coming and going there have been a few littlies too sick and in need of euthanasing. one came in with no mouth is was gross and sad....we've had a few successful rescues and pick ups and some interesting community developments...one of those being that BADGAR Hobsons Bay has now incorperated as a unique entitiy and is now called :

WAR - Western Animal Rescue
Their website is now:

http://www.war.org.au

Its the same info as the www.BADGARhobsonsbay.com site..only spiffyier:)

So good luck WAR and happy incorperation!

I never knew quite what it took to get down to business but I am glad I have...I still love being a foster carer...love the animals and love that they love us...Its helped me in maintaining my own recovery to be so open about how the animals help me stave off depression and to heal and grow as a human being..and I am not ashamed to say so. I'm not ashamed period. Having been the recipient of the worst of human nature all my life and having faced the battles Ive needed to face to overcome that I know within myself the reality we are facing ecologically and humanly if we do not help to restore balance to our world.. and it is with all realism and knoweldge that I say that I cant save the world none of us in isolation can.....I do accept that...I also know however, that I was never expecting to...or expected to.

I can though, help that ONE single animal and THAT matters...in fact it matters a whole lot.

I believe that and that we...are worth it.

LOVE begins where all else fails...

cheers
